Sole Mates

"These boots are made for walking, that's just what they'll do, one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you."
Jeffrey Campbell S/S 2011
I stumbled across these two beautiful babies on the Jeffrey Campbell website today. The top pair, called Wrecker, are AMAZING! I love all of the buckles. I imagine them w/ layered up socks, maxi skirts and oversized sweaters. Oh... and LOTS of jewelry!

The second pair, appropriately named "Big Girl," are ridiculous, huh? I've been trying to guess how high that platform is.... 5 inches? So, Crazy! I can't wait to get these for spring and summer. I'll sport 'em w/ cut-off shorts, funky cropped tees, cute sundresses... the list could and will go on. I'm in love! They remind me of the platforms I used to wear in junior high, right when "Clueless" came out.

So anyway, that's my schpill for today. I love these two new designs from JC.... Shoe mastermind. I hope everyone is having a great week so far!!!
Thanks for reading!

Here we are now, entertain us

"Smells like Teen Spirit"

Outfit: dress- Nom de Plume Ya Ya for UO; shirt- UO; boots- Nine West; necklace- handmade by www.lunarearth.com; ring- handmade by eyesoftheworld; bangle and other ring- vintage
I'm most definitely a child of the nineties... I was obsessed w/ Nirvana, Dave Matthews, goo Goo Dolls, STP, movies like "Clueless" "Dazed and Confused" and "Empire Records." I loved fashion and in the 6th grade I thought I waaas Cher Horwitz. So, when this 90's grunginess came back onto the scene, I was all over it. I LOVE lace-up boots, floral dresses, ragged t-shirts, flannel button-downs, short pleated skirts, socks w/ everything, lots of jewelry.. you know.. Grunge!
This was definitely an ode to that time. I was so comfy all day. When I got in the car that morning I put in Rage immediately! I got some weird looks driving down the road. I usually do though. I have to listen to really loud music in the morning to wake my ass up for work!
What decade do you kick back to when dressing?
Anyways, Thanksgiving is in two days. This is one of my favorite days of the year. All you have to do is eat and nap... some have to drive, not me! I love that Christmas movies are on all day and I can just be lazy. This year will be a little different though. We're having Thanksgiving on the RV b/c we'll be in Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl. Yes, everyone, my parents are that hard core. We're ready to kick some Auburn ass though! Gotta be ready, right? I love this weekend every year. Food, football and fellowship! Great combo!
I hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving! Thanks for reading!!

Bring a nickel, tap your feet

"Over on the corner there's a happy noise. People come from all around to watch the magic boy." CCR

outfit: cardi- Banana Republic; tee- J.Crew; skinnies- BDG; boots- Nine West; scarf- DIY
Randoms from today. I couldn't get in a picture mood. These are my newest boots and I've been living in them!!! They are so comfy. I actually wore them to a panic show one night and a bama game! I love that lace-up boots are trendy this year. I've had a black pair for forever and people always look at me so strangely when I wear them. Now, I see them everywhere.
I'm going w/ my mom to pick up Jere at the airport on Saturday in ATL. I told her I'd go w/ her if we could go shopping. I already started making a list. We don't have a ZARA or H&M in Alabama. So, when I go over to ATL, I have to stock up. I want some leather shorts. Anybody got any suggestions for a good place to get them?
Well, I hope everyone is having a happy hump day! Thanks for reading, friends!

Pamela Love for The Selby

"Inspiration, oh she barely waits a moment, elevator doors open, hear her footsteps touch the stairs..." WP

This is a photoshoot done by Todd Selby for his website, The Selby , of Pamela Love and Jordan Sullivan. Pamela is an amazing jewelry designer based out of Brooklyn, NY. She is a great source of inspiration for me when it comes to jewelry and clothing. Now that I've seen their home, it is also a great source of inspiration. I love the raw stones placed all over the house, jewerly used as deco and dreamcatchers hanging all around. They are an adorable little boho couple w/ GREAT style. Jordan is a musician and photographer. Pretty groovy couple, huh?
If you haven't checked out The Selby before, I recommend that you do. He has a book out also. Thanks for reading and sharing in my lil bit of inspiration for today.
I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far. It is very rainy in Bama. Making the best of it.

Last night I flipped through the newest UO catalog. I immediately got some warm fuzzies all over. It makes me want to get all of my friends together and spend a weekend on the lake in a cabin in our pj's w/ candles, board games, good food and beer, sleeping bags, and laughs! Dinner Party!

flower pot

"The times, they are a-changin'..."

outfit: cardi- Anthro; dress- ZARA; tights- Express; platforms- F21; jewelry- made by me for Too Gypsies

Took these pictures today in downtown Birmingham by the J.Clyde and Blue Monkey. I love this area. There are so many cool things to look at!!! This weather is killing me though! When I walked out this morning it was 45 degrees! I wrapped up in a shawl as I drove to work. When we came out to take the pics, it was almost 80!! Good thing I have this summer/fall cardi for days like this. I got it last summer from Anthro. I love the double side buttons, three quarter sleeves and ruffle waist hem. So cute! It has become a staple in the wardrobe!
I've been looking at different blogs and magazines to try and get ideas for "winter" clothes. Although, the past few years in the south we haven't had much of a winter. We have REALLY cold days, but they are usually followed by warm days or at the very least.... cool days. I like all the layered looks I see. Love anything boho chic! Keep checking out the J.Crew and Free People winter looks and have you seen the new Anthropologie magazine??????? It is AMAZING!!!! Go pick one up or at least look at it online! It's a decoupagers dream!
Anyways, enough rambling for today. I hope everyone is having a happy hump day!
Thanks for reading, friends!

double take

"Don't think twice... it's alright"

outfit: cape- vintage, blouse- Anthropologie; jeans- Pacsun; clogs- Sam Edelman; sunnies- RayBan, jewelry- gifted and vintage
I know I blogged this shirt last week and it's a blogger no-no to post the same outfit twice in a row. But, my brother sent me these pictures he took of me a few weekends ago in Tennessee. I like them so I'm posting them. The shirt is styled differently anyway. You will hardly ever catch me in flare leg jeans either. Wearing my grandmother's cape that I LOVE so much! When I pulled it out, my mother laughed at me and couldn't believe I was actually thinking of sporting it. Now, she loves to see me in it. The color is perfect as are the buttons. It's missing one button. So, I'm thinking of taking them all off and putting some funky ones on. We'll see.
Not feeling my best today, my weekend in New Orleans kicked my butt. Plus, I've been around lots of sick people this week. YUCK! My plan is to do a lot of lounging this weekend :) So, if you're bored and want to make me some soup, I won't protest. Took two disposable cameras to Nola. Now I've just got to get them developed before next Halloween. I'll post pics soon.
Hope everyone is having a nice week. Thanks for reading.
