Cowgirl in the Sand

"Can I stay here for a while, can I see your sweet sweet smile." ~Neil Young

This editorial is from a few months back... I've had these images on my computer for a while. As I was going through some other pics today, I stumbled back across them. Erin Wasson.... such a badass. Model, jewelry designer, music lover, just all around 'cool kid.' I think we'd probaby be pretty good friends if we met. :) And I'd wear EVERY piece of clothing she sports in these photos. How awesome is that Dolce and Gabbana corset? Or that gorgeous dress and denim vest??? My next DIY project will be to get a denim jacket, distress it and cut off the sleeves then rock the hell out of it over funky lil' dresses and really tall heels this Spring.
Anyways, hope you enjoy. It's been a little while since I posted on my blog. The freezing weather had gotten me in a funk I think. Back at it now.
Thanks for reading. Have a peaceful day, friends.

Cold Rain & Snow

"Well she's coming down the stairs, combin' back her yellow hair"
Grateful Dead

There's been some wintery weather here in Alabama over the past few days. Hardly any snow but LOTS of ice. This weather caused me not to be able to work today, which was pretty rad. My brother and I took a break from our busy movie watching schedule and did a little photoshoot. The dead tree stump I'm standing on in some of them decayed beneath my feet which was pretty freaky. It was covered by ice and felt like quicksand.
I had a pretty great weekend too besides an early morning disappointment on Saturday. My friends and I got up at 7:30a.m. to get tickets to see Panic and I didn't get a single one. I was pissed to say the least. But, that afternoon I went antique shopping with my brother... followed that with yogurt mountain and ended the night w/ Mexican food, guilty pleasure movies and time w/ my great friend, Elise. So, as crappy as not getting my tickets was, the day turned out pretty cool. Followed by two days of being posted up w/ my fam watching movies, eating well, drinking wine and laughing my a$$ off.
I hope everyone else had a great weekend too.

The Lingering Lead

"I'm married to my roots here, still I feel like I am free."
Today was Michael Houser's birthday. Mikey left this world in August 2002. He was the lead guitarist for one of my favorite bands, Widespread Panic. I've talked about them a lot on this blog and even posted pictures of me at their shows. They are an incredible band still today. But, they along with all of their fans very much miss this guy, Mikey.
Quick pic of me outside of work. I wish we'd gotten a little more of the sky behind me. It was gorgeous as it went down today. The pink hues were amazing.

I hope everyone has a lovely evening and weekend.
Thanks for stopping by!

Ra Ra Sis Boom Bah

"Had a friend she once told me, you got love you ain't lonely..." LZ

Outfit: dress-Rachel Rachel Roy; blazer- vintage (stole from Mom); tights- ZARA; boots- Sam Edelman; rings- UO and gifted rings
I scored this dress at Macy's last week. It's Rachel Rachel Roy and I've been eyeing it since fall. It's part of her fall line and I've loved it since the first time I saw it. The cut of the dress is so great and flattering and I love the way it drapes in the front. I noticed a week or so before Christmas that Macy's had a HUGE sale on her line along w/ a few others I buy there. So, as usual when I'm bored on my lunch break, I went shopping. And... I scored big. I got this cute lil' dress and an adorable romper from her for less than half of what the dress originial cost. Awesome, huh? You'll be seeing both fairly often this spring/summer I'm sure.
Did you guys hear that Karl Lagerfeld is doing a capsule collection for Macy's too. Uh, yea!! I can't freakin' wait to see this. I love that more and more designers are doing capsule collections for places like Macy's, H&M, Target, etc. Closest I usually get to the real deal. ;)
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday evening. I'm about to go enjoy pizza and movie night w/ my parents and baby bro. Good times!
Thanks for reading!
