Well, there's a little look into last weekend. Everything this month seems to be centered around weddings. This weekend will end my streak of weddings for a bit. But, it will also end the month of May :) On Sunday, I plan to be laying on a float in the lake w/ a cold drink of some sort.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend! Thanks for reading!

Scarlet Begonias

"She had rings on her fingers and bells on her shoes. I knew without asking she was into the blues..."
Grateful Dead

Outfit: blouse-Anthropologie; trousers-Urban Outfitters; clogs-Charlotte Russe; sunnies-Urban Outfitters; watch-Atlanta market; ring-vintage

So, I know I said I was going to post pictures from the bachelor party and I haven't done that yet. But, I will! I promise! I didn't take as many photos as I expected to and I haven't cropped them yet. So, I'll either post them later in the week or post them w/ the rest of the wedding pictures next week. The wedding is on Saturday night. My mom and I are decorating (she does that on the side). So, I plan to break out the big camera and takes lots of pictures this weekend. I'll probably put Myles in charge of that. He's good w/ the Nikon and it will actually get done.

Pretty normal day at work. April and I both wore our black high-waist trousers. So, naturally we took a pic together. I'm on the hunt for white sparklers and/or dried lavendar for the wedding this weekend. Going to try a few places after work. If anyone has suggestions for me, please comment on this post!! :) I also ate the most amazing lunch from Nothing but Noodles (which in fact has food besides noodles). I got the spicy Japanese noodles and they were AMAZING!! I recommend it to anyone who eats there.

Well, that's enough rambling for today. Thank you for reading everyone!
I hope you have a peaceful evening!!!

some pics from college graduation

I found these pictures on Facebook last week and just had to share them. I was lucky enough to graduate college with three great friends of mine!! It was the most memorable graduation I could have asked for! It was absolutely perfect!!!

Me w/ Abby and Jen right after graduation

In out caps and gowns!!!!

Abby is a year younger than me. Sheri was the first 'best friend' I met at college. We both accepted invitations to dinner at a frat house w/ really dorky guys. From that night on we were inseperable. Then, the next year, Abby came! She was loud and crazy and so much fun to be around. She quickly became our next 'best friend' at college. The three of us plus our sweet Nikki had the funnest, craziest most amazing college experiences together.... and now those two skanks are in Australia with out me!!!! You two better be missing me like crazy! Damn it!

Abby and I at the restaurant I worked at all through college, The Globe. We'd had maybe 3 hours of sleep the night before and were enjoying some nice champaign at lunch already. But, hey... it was graduation, right?

Me with Abby's sweet family! They were so much fun to hang out with that day. Our parents had a ball together too! :)
I'm wearing a dress by Anna Sui for Anthropologie and Abby is wearing a dress from Express

Abs and I in our princess crowns. We bought these and the 2007 Mardi Gras necklaces between lunch and nap time at the Party Store in Tuscaloosa. We had to make sure to stand out from the crowd!!! Probably didn't even need the crowns!

Dancing with my Papa Bear!!! He and my brother are THE BEST dance partners ever!!! I guess Jere inherited Hap's dance moves :)

Not sure what I'm doing here.. apparently making Susan laugh really hard! Look how freaking long my hair was... It's crazy to see it on the stage at graduation. Wearing a BCBG dress here.

Some fun friends who came to celebrate with us!!! It was the most perfect party I could ask for!!! Our parents rented out the patio of a bar called "The Library" for us. It is right on what we call "The Strip." We had good food and drinks, great music and so many great friends to share the night and memories with!! LOVED IT!

The graduation ladies with our families!! I'm still so thankful for that day, that weekend!
I just got so excited when I found these pictures on Abby's facebook page. I had to share them with blog world. I hope everyone is having a lovely Monday afternoon. Thanks so much for reading!!

Wizard in the corner...

"Jack was really a jester, held his one good eye on the queen..."
Widespread Panic

So... I've had this skirt for a while. Got it at a consignment shop here in town and just haven't found the right thing to wear it with until yesterday. I went by Charlotte Russe in hopes of finding some cheap, satin shoes to get me through a wedding. Instead, I found two cool new rings and this shirt that was marked down to $2.99

This skirt was made by Michael Kors. It still had the price tag on it from Gus Mayer which showed a price of $435!! It blew my mind... I kinda thought Gus Mayer was ripping people off! It's a cotton, batik print mini skirt!!??? How can it be over $400!!! I got it for $20! I'm so pleased w/ the fact that somebody didn't want their shiny, new, expensive, MK mini skirt because I QUITE like it and am QUITE content wearing it this summer :)

I hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday afternoon. I've had a great day aside from the fact that I had to walk up a hill to get in the office all day in my 4 inch heels. We are having our office building repainted... I've watched these guys too. They've been here for two weeks painting... They work for about 3 hours a day then goof off on their crane thing for the other 5. Must be a pretty good gig.....
Next, so... for this Friday night I have put together a little bachelor extravaganza for my cousin... Destry. Yes, bachelor not bachelorette. I am the "Best Maid" as I call it in his wedding next weekend (hence the need for black satin shoes, I get to wear a black satin dress). So, as the best man it is my duty to throw a bachelor party or something for the groom. I've called several of his closest friends and we are all meeting at 7pm. I've kept the plans kind of loose.... Dinner and then WHATEVER Destry wants to do.. I'm going to be cool and open for anything. So, I'll let you guys know how that goes next week :) Should be interesting and fun!
I also may be getting the cadi back from the shop this weekend. I'm going to miss my rental!
Anyway, thanks for reading!! I hope everyone has a peaceful evening!

Vintage Vixen

I came across some really cool pictures of my friend Kristie Jo today. She is a cool chic originally from New Hampshire, living in Alabama. I've known her for about 6 years now. We share a love for many things but one in particular is fashion.. We both appreciate vintage finds and enjoy creating unique looks out of whatever we can find! I've never met someone who can find a diamond in the rouch like her though. She never leaves a thrift store without some new treasure! I get a lot of vintage inspiration from this girl! So, cheers to K-Jo!! Keep doing what you do mama!

The above and below pictures are both great examples of Kristie's ability to mix and match vintage items. She never fails to look cool! Always wearing the perfect accessory..

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far!! Thanks for reading!

Better Time Than Most People Dream

"Whatever tears at us, whatever holds us down, and if nothing can be done just make the best of what's around..."
Dave Matthews Band

Outfit: Muave, seersucker dress; Chinese Laundry platforms; UO wayfairers; vintage heart necklace; vintage turquoise/silver bracelet; gifted from Susan daisy bracelet

I feel like Jenny Gump in this dress.. I'm afraid I'm not going to take it off... EVER!
Hello my friends! I hope everyone has had a great day! I have b/c I got to wear this amazing dress! The second I saw it I fell in love with it. The multi-color striped seersucker material is incredible. It's flowy and the 70's style halter neckline is perfect! I'm so in love!!!
I have the perfect place to wear it this weekend too. But, I'm not going. The Hangout Festival is being put on in Gulf Shores, AL this weekend. Some of my favorite bands and musicians will be there. But, I just don't have the funds right now. I've been on the road every weekend for a minute and it was nice. But, now it's time to chill out a bit. So, the plan is to "hang out" at the lake this weekend w/ friends and sunshine. I've got my swimsuit packed and ready to go. I also plan to finish my book, Hunter S. Thompson's Rum Diaries. We'll see how that goes. I love going down to the lake. It's so peaceful and pretty. You can hear birds chirping, frogs doing whatever it is frogs do, kids playing and swimming on the water... You can swim yourself, eat good food, drink cold beers and enjoy the company of friends. I'm getting excited just describing it to you!
Well, I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend with whatever you do! Stay safe and keep it peaceful!!! Thanks for reading friends!

sweet you rock and sweet you roll

"And if I've gone overboard then I'm begging you to forgive me oh in my haste..."
Dave Matthews Band
Outfit: reversible black dress; UO wayfairer sunnies; Herve Leger espadrilles; vintage celtic ring; Lucky brand snake ring; DIY charm necklace w/ horse head, pinwheel and larimar pendant
Happy Wednesday Everyone! Today was pretty crazy for me!! I had to re-evaluate my health insurance plan at work, which was no fun! I don't like having to make those kinds of decision... I'd rather the company just do it for me. I also had to talk to Safeco about a million times in the last three days. I haven't said anything about this on the blog yet. But, I wrecked my Cadillac on Sunday :( It sucked! I wasn't hurt in the wreck but I did A LOT of damage to my car. I am driving a pimp Buick Enclave rent-a-car right now though. I've been jamming out soccor mom style all week. Freak accidents are scary and SUCH a hassle! So, between the two insurance nazis it's been a hectic day for me.

I did get to talk to my beautiful friend, Abby, who is home from Australia for the weekend. She is in a wedding in Kentucky and isn't actually getting to come see me. But, I still got to hear her voice which I haven't heard in a while.

I'm about to go eat some sushi and drink an ice cold beer. Sounds great, right? YEP!!!

Everyone have a great night... Thanks for reading!!

Lotus

Flower of Life

This picture above looks a little silly but I wanted to show the sleeves. They are really cool!
I bought this dress two weekends ago when I was in Fairhope at the wedding. Mom and I found an adorable little consignment shop with tons of fun goodies. We spent a while trying things on and looking around. This dress is too big for me but I got it for a steal and it has a lotus flower on it. I'm going to alter it to fit better under the arms and I think make it shorter. But, I was itching to wear it. So, here it is... too big but very comfy and flowy to wear. It's by a Turkish design house called DEPT. I'd never heard of it. The colors and fabric and of course lotus just caught my eye. I wore it today w/ these bronze BCBG espadrilles and my spectacles. My eyes have been killing me since I got back from the beach. Yikes!
I hope everyone has had a lovely Tuesday afternoon. Thanks for reading my short but sweet post today :)

"They say turn the bright lights on and there you'll find the truth..."

Widespread Panic

I got Jay to come to her first Panic concert on Saturday night!! She had a BLAST!! First thing she said was "I'm mad at you." I said "Why?" She said... "because you haven't brought me to this before now!! " CLASSIC!

I know I always say that I'm going to take cute outfit pics when I go on trips and to concerts.. I rarely do. I get so wrapped up in the music and fun and forget to take full body shots! I did get some great pictures with great friends though!!

The ladies... Myself, Jay, Keira and Emmie on Saturday night!! We were having fun and being very silly as we boogied!

The boys plus sweet Stephanie in the corner. These boys are a riot to be around. They sing and dance together all night. It's pretty cute! They love each other! It was Myles's birthday on Saturday and he was so excited to spend it with so many of his closest friends!

Here he is being silly after finally, after 5 years, hearing a song he's been chasing....

"Just kissed my baby" and he did... He gave me a kiss :)

Me with the birthday boy! We had a blast together with all of our friends! I don't think it could have been a better birthday for him! We both LOVE panic and he's an amazing show partner!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend!!!!
