The Jazzy Belle's 100th Post!!!

As I went on blogger this morning to read a few of my favorite blogs, I saw that last night's post was #99. So, I decided today for the 100th post on THE JAZZY BELLE I'd do a flashback of some of my favorite pictures from the last 8 months of blogging. I think I got a little carried away. But, with my obsession w/ fun clothes and more pictures than I know what to do with, one could say I did pretty good w/ only 18 posted here today :)

One of my first posts w/ the flower pin Sheri made for me.

The pictures above and below were from two of the most fun photo shoots I've done for the blog. Jere did both of them. One in the park and one on Morris Ave.

I'm now obsessed w/ the skirt I'm wearing above. I've had it for a few years. But, I put this outfit together and now I want to wear it all the time. Can't wait to play w/ this skirt this Fall.

Summer lovin'

I love how basic the outfits above and below are. Both are ensembles i will be wearing a lot more often exactly as you see them here :) If it ain't broke and it's comfy, don't fix it! :)

I love the dress below and I'm wearing it today :)
I know I just posted this outfit last week. But, I LOVE it and I'm still pining over my new purse. This is a top 5 blog outfit so far I'd say.
Thank you so much to everyone who has followed me and supported me over the last 8 months and 100 posts. The blog is going into a transitional stage that I am very excited about. We'll see how the next 100 posts go. So many new and exciting things are happening in my life. I love that I can share them here on my own personal jazzy lil' blog.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I'm off to help my brother finish packing his life up.

Fortunate Son

"Some folks are born to wave the flag, Oh they're red, white and blue..." CCR
This is a bittersweet week for me. My brother is moving away on Saturday. He's moving to Philadelphia, PA. I am very excited for him and this new adventure. But, I must say I'm pretty freakin' sad I'm not going to be able to see my best bro ever all the time. We've gotten close over the past few years.
So, what will Jere be doing in Philly?? Going to school. Grad school that is for a Masters in Divinity and Social Work. He'll be there for 4 years. I plan to visit all the time and take advantage of his life in this historical city.

On a sweeter note (for me), I've been talking lately about some projects I'm working on. I'm still not ready to reveal EVERYTHING I've got going. But, I will share one thing. As you can see above and below, I have what I like to call a "gypsy feather clip" in my hair. This is just one of many handmade accessories I have been making.
My friend Jay, who you've seen on this blog before, and I have some big plans. We are both busy little bees these days and will reveal our work to you very soon. So, please stay tuned. For now, I'm loving the feather clips and plan to wear one often. :) If you are also interested in these and other fun "gypsy" like jewelry and accessories, stay tuned!!! There are lots more fun things coming in the near future.

So, today I've revealed two big things happening in my life... I will be spending the next two days helping Jere pack up his life for the move. He leaves on Saturday morning and his best friend, DJ, is making the 15 hour drive w/ him. I'm hoping he starts a blog of his own to share his adventures and misadventures in Philly. If and when he does this, I'll let you guys know. You'll definitely want to check it out :)

That's it for this Wednesday night. It's a crazy and emotional week for me. So, send good energy my way friends. Thank you so much for reading and sharing this blog w/ me.
I hope everyone is having a lovely week!!!!

FP Shoe Frinzy

A shoe frinzy
As I've said a lot lately, I'm ready for Fall. Ready for the leaves to change, crisp air, bonfires, and BAMA FOOTBALL SEASON just to name a few. I'm also so ready for warmer, rich clothing and shoes, lots of layers, clogs, hats, scarves, etc. I've been looking around lately b/c I want a perfect pair of clogs and a perfect pair of boots this Autumn. I decided to share a few of my favorites from FREE PEOPLE today. Which are your favorites?

(very reminscent of the Vivian Westwood pirate boots)

Bestival Boots

I decided to share these shoes today b/c I am loving the bohemian meets urban meets farm girl feel of the boots and clogs this season. I LOVE a high heel and a platform. The chunkiness of this season's shoes is so fun and wearable. As for the Keira boot, I'm obsessed w/ Vivian Westwood's "pirate boots" which are WAY WAY WAY out of my price range, these are the next best thing! All of these can be found at Free People stores, catalogs and of course their website. What styles are you after this Fall?
Hope everyone's week has started off wonderfully!

Pleas

"They say turn the bright lights on and there you'll find the truth..."
WP
Again with sporatic posts.. I haven't felt like my outfits have been blog worthy over the past week. I get in such a hurry sometimes that I don't take time to "style" something really cute up. Not that I have ugly clothes, but last week I wore a lot of my "go to" outfits.. the outfits I know are comfy and easy to throw on.. These usually include comfy dresses, high waist skirts, light weight tees and/or skinnies. A lot of which have been seen here on The Jazzy Belle before.
I think I'm getting a little sick of summer too. It is so damn hot in the south. It's like I just want to wear as little as possible. So, I throw on a sundress or a pair of shorts and a tank top and I'm out the door. All of these things are cute.. But they are boring to me now for some reason..

I like to layer. I like jeans. I like boots. I like hats and jackets and tall socks. I like sweaters and tunics and button down oxfords. This list could go on and on. The beauty of Autumn is that in the south I get the best of both worlds.. I can still wear my cute lil dresses w/ tights or cardis or socks and platforms. But, I can also wear jeans and scarves and hats. So... I think I've just gotten over summer for now. Next week, I'll probably be fine and enjoying my summer dresses and such again. But, for now.. I'm asking for Autumn please. This may also have to do with the fact that it's been nearly 100 degrees every single day!!! I'm also tired of sweat!

Enough complaining for now though... I'm wearing a few different things for the first time in these pics. You guys have seen the cardi before. I've fallen in love w/ its soft colors and patterns (one thing I do adore about my summer wardrobe). I also got this dress/tunic that day. It is SO comfy and cute. I love the way it ties in the back which gives me the option of having a kind of drop waist or a shorter dress w/ lots of gather at the waist. It's fun. I'm wearing my lace tunic/dress under it which you can't see. The top dress was a little see-through so the lace one was a necessity. And last but not least, my fabulous new purse!! I fell in love on Sunday when my friend Elise had one and told me it was on sale. I kept looking at it all day and decided that I must also have one. I also decided that I was destined to have it b/c it was made in Philadelphia, the town my little brother will be moving to in a mere two weeks. We'll talk about that later.. I get sad when the subject comes up (though I'm excited to visit A LOT)!

Outfit: Cardi and top dress- Free People; lace dress- UO; purse- Anthropologie; shoes- Charlotte Russe; sunnies- Ray Ban; watch- ATL market; rings- vintage, handmade and Lucky Brand snake ring; feather earrings- gift from a sweet friend :)
I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far!! I am feeling inspired to come up w/ some fun outfits. So, I will be posting again. I've also been inspired to make a lot of fun stuff lately. I plan to also share those things with you guys very soon. So... stay tuned!
Thank you to all who read this and share the fun with me.

That's The Way

"I don't know how I'm gonna tell you, I can't play with you no more...."
Led Zeppelin
So glad that I was able to post some more outfit pics this week. Although, I've got a fun party for my brother to go to on Saturday and I'm planning to take some streetstyle pics that night too. A lot of my brother's hipster friends have fabulous personal style, including him! You'll be in for a treat.
I got this shirt a couple of weeks ago and have been living in it since.. The cut and flow of it are so pretty. I'm usually not a big animal print fan, but the colors just caught my eye and haven't let go. It is a piece by Rachel Roy for the Rachel collection. I wore it here w/ BDG skinnies, platforms and my Ray ban sunnies.

My brother took these pics outside of Tutti Fruitti, a yogurt place that just opened up down the street from our office. I love it! The espresso yogurt is so good! I'm going to miss afternoon yogurt runs w/ Jere when he leaves. I'm still not quite ready to talk about it w/ you guys though. We'll get to it later.... He's going on his next big adventure.. enough said for now.
Anyway, I hope you guys are having a wonderful day! Mine has been pretty good I'd say. I'm ready for my 3 day weekend though. I'm hoping to finish up a DIY I started last weekend. Jere and I did try and get some pictures of one of my projects, a really cool shirt I altered and made AWESOME, but the lighting was horrible. We got tired of trying so I'll show it to you guys later. It's too cute to have a crappy photo. Other than that I'll be partying on Saturday night and relaxing a bit too (I hope).
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week. Thanks for reading!

Dorothy stole my friend and took her to OZ

My tourpal started following the yellow brick road and hasn't come home!!!!!!!
DOROTHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These are some pictures taken of Sheri in New Zealand, where she studied for a few weeks through the University of Alabama. Doesn't she look beautiful against that landscape?
Below she is wearing a cardigan that I thrifted a few months ago and she needed b/c it is winter down under. She styled it up perfectly w/ this Missoni inspired skirt, grey boots and a splash of blue with the scarf!

I love this rocker chic outfit she's got going in the pic below. I'm SO jealous of the shoe (boot) collection my tourpal has gotten on this trip! She's gotten at least 3 pairs of killer boots! The suede fringe Billabong boots she picked up are perfectly paired w/ a Radiohead tee and grey skinnies. Perfection, Love!!

I love the next one b/c one Alexander McQueen was a genius and will always be a fashion icon. Two, I bought this outfit for her for Christmas. It makes me smile that she is rocking the pieces together. If you know Sheri, you know she likes to mix and match (or not so much :))

The last one is so cute! Again, if you know Sheri, you know she's such a dork when it comes to reading. She'd rather sit in her pj's w/ a cup of coffee reading ALL day than go shopping or to an amusement park or something (making up examples as i go). So, when I saw this picture taken in New Zealand by a classmate, I had to save it. Another thing, if you know Sheri, you know she was constantly in black in the US b/c she worked at a salon. I find it quite amusing that she just can't get away from that :) Chic as always though!
I've really been missing my tourpal!!! I'm used to being able to pick up the phone and call her. Today has been especially hard b/c she tried to call me last night and I missed the calls :( So, I decided to dedicate a post to my soul sister! I knew when she left in May she wouldn't be back for a long time. That's just Sheri. She doesn't work on a schedule, doesn't wear watches, just goes with the flow. Right now, her flow has gone down under. She spent a few weeks back and forth between Australia and New Zealand. Now she's taken up residence and a work Visa in Australia and will possibly be there for a while. I miss her like crazy. But, I'm sooooo glad my bestie is having an amazing experience!! She's hanging out and living it up w/ our friend, Abby. A perfect person to be with. I hope to go see them both VERY SOON!!!
Sheri- while you're there, if you see any more trinkets or goodies that scream STEEEEVIIII, don't hesitate to buy them.. or just make Abby do it ;)
I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far! Thanks for reading!!

If my heart was made of glass...

"My biggest mistake was loving you too much and letting you know. Now you got me where you want me and you won't let me go..."

So... I'm wearing two things that I purchased last weekend...

my new short sleeve cardi from Free People-

I love that it's silk in the front and eyelet lace in the back.

Then, my new Michael Kors sandals-

beautiful color and leather, painful after walking for a while-

If you are a fashion lover you know that it can be painful sometimes.

I love this dress b/c it is so vintage inspired.

The cut of it is adorable and the light chambray material is perfect for summer!

I want to wear it all the time.
I'm also diggin' the side braid lately if you haven't noticed....

I want to learn to fish tail my hair.. anyone got any pointers?

I have come to terms w/ the fact that I am a shopaholic. I know it. I don't deny it. I actually embrace it.. That's sad. But, my justification is that while I'm young and free and making good money, I might as well buy pretty things. So, that's what I do. I buy pretty things that I feel are good staples to my closet. Like these new shoes- perfect for spring, summer and probably a little bit of fall. The dress- it won't go out of style and if it does, I don't care. I wear what I want. And the cardi- a perfect way to spice up an outfit in need of a little something. :) I've gotten good at this justification thing, huh? ha!

Anyways, thanks for reading lovelies! I'm about to go jam some tunes on my ride home..

"Baby dont you do it, don't do it, don't you break my heart. Pleeeeeeaaaaase don't do it don't ya break my heart...." :)

Have an excellent weekend friends!

Stevi

the sun is melting EVERYTHING

Sunny Daze here in Alabama.
Wearing as little clothing as possible is a necessity.
Appropriate dress for the work place is too.
Compromise is Key.
The outfit: blouse- Ella Moss, belt- UO, trousers- ZARA, sandals- BCBG, sunnies- Ray Ban, watch and ring- ATL market, necklace- vintage
I've been MIA on the blog over the past week or so.
Life has been busy and sporatic.
I haven't felt like I've had time for styling.
Until this weekend that is... when I hit the jackpot on sales at Belk. 2 awesome pairs of shoes, 3 pretty Free People pieces. Cardi, cotton tank and tunic. Score! 1 beautifully sheer vintage blouse from a little vintage boutique in downtown Birmingham. A boutique that always makes me smile as I drive up and see their lazy kitty cat mascots waiting for my arrival.
Tax free weekend coming up.
YAY!!!
What to buy next???? NOTHING ELSE!!!
More school coming soon for me! YAY AGAIN!!!!
Money must be saved... Starting....... now! GO!
More about that later :)
So, obviously I mixed up my writing style today. I'm going to be experimenting w/ the blog a bit over the next few days/weeks/ month. I did shop a lot this week and it is tax free wkend this coming weekend. I'm going to do my best to stay away from the shopping monster in my head! Also, I am planning another trip down college lane. I will tell you guys more about that as I find out more about what I am doing. :) It's exciting stuff.
I am planning to really get back into my blog. Thank you to all my friendly, loyal followers and readers for hanging in there with me. Hiatus is good sometimes.
I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far!!!!!
